The central region is not only where the delta meets the mountains, it’s also the most populated and burgeoning region of the state. Home to the state capitol, Little Rock bustles with tourists, government activity, and an exciting city life. In addition, the Little Rock Air Force Base is a major component.
Just outside of Little Rock, recreational activities are popular in an area full of lakes, mountains and two national forests. Poultry, hogs, beef cattle production along with rice and soybeans make up the region’s major agricultural activity.
Faulkner County is home to three colleges: Hendrix College, Central Baptist College and the University of Central Arkansas.
