May 26, 2009 Trip Advisory, May 25th - 28th Pryor to Participate in Memorial Day Ceremony, Tour Tornado Damage, Agriculture Projects, Fort Chaffee and Visit with Community Leaders around the State WASHINGTON D.C. – Senator Mark Pryor today said he is looking forward to meeting with servicemen and women, community organizers and business leaders during his travels in Arkansas next week. On Monday, May 25th at 10 am CT, Pryor will honor Arkansas’s fallen soldiers during the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. The event will take place at 1501 West Maryland Avenue in North Little Rock, AR. On Tuesday, May 26th at 9 am CT, Pryor will tour the CoorsTek facility. This manufacturing company produces advanced armor protection for U.S. troops in combat. The tour will take place at 3315 Boone Road in Benton, AR. At 11:15 am CT, Pryor will have lunch with local officials, including Mayor Jo Childress and County Judge Alvin Black. This event will take place at Mount Ida Café, 132 Highway 270 E in Mount Ida, AR. At 1:30 pm CT, Pryor will tour tornado damage in Mena with Mayor George McKee and County Judge Ray Stanley. The tour will begin at City Hall, 520 Mena Street in Mena, AR. On Wednesday, May 27th at 8 am CT, Pryor will discuss the Bayou Meto water project with local officials. The goal of this water supply and flood risk project is to reduce demand on underground aquifers that provide water for area farmers. This event will take place at 1300 North Center Street, Suite 9 in Lonoke, AR. At 2:15 pm CT, Pryor will discuss funding for the Grand Prairie water project at Hazen/De Valls Bluff. This event will take place at the White River Irrigation District Office, housed in the Historic Rock Island Depot, 157 East Front Street in Hazen, AR. On Thursday, May 28th at 9 am CT, Pryor will tour the Friendship Community Care facility. This private, non-profit organization serves individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the Arkansas Valley region. The event will take place at 920 North University in Russellville, AR. At 12 pm CT, Pryor will speak at the annual Arkansas Community Action Agencies Association conference luncheon. He will discuss $13.7 million recently allocated for community service projects. This event will take place in the Holiday Inn - City Center, 700 Rogers Avenue in Fort Smith, AR. At 2pm CT, Pryor will meet with Arkansas National Guard leadership to discuss their current and future needs. He will also tour the new weapon qualification ranges, Combined Support Maintenance facility and Reserve Readiness Center. This event will take place at Fort Chaffee, AR.
